CUTTING HAIR - July 28, 1987

“Last year after my sister had a massive stroke, the caretakers at the hospital cut her crowning glory, her long hair she’d always been so proud of. Later she realized what had happened, ran her fingers through the short locks, and shook the bedrails in her anger. 2,000 miles away I worried. What can I do to help her accept this? I’ll cut my long hair and send her the word her little sister wants to look like her. I don’t know that it helped her any, but I felt better for having done something. After I drew this picture I saw what I was doing - simplifying my life.”
